I had a nice surprise today when my daughter stopped over after her Dr's appointment. We ended up going out for lunch and spent a nice time with each other. An unexpected surprise and a good one.
My bow tie quilt is finished and I was surprised how much the vintage fabric shrunk up! I like it though!

this is the after picture. It looks much more exaggerated in the photo than real life. Notice how straight my lines look??? (-:
The colors look much better too. All the vintage fabric were 5" squares so they could not be washed ahead of time. I used Quilt Wash and they all but sparkle!
Yesterday I dumped out all the blocks that are mistakes, test blocks or leftovers. I always feel like they are unmined gold waiting to be found. I was surprised how many I had, maybe enough for a few wall hanging quilts.

Washing can add so much to a quilt. Yours turned out wonderful! I love surprise visits (well most of time). Those little surprises can make a day so... special and memorable.
