Diary Quilt Tuesday

I will tell you right away I am not thrilled with this block. It is supposed to represent my redbuds which opened almost an entire month early.
The bark is a little too dark and the flowers are lame. I am not changing it....that was a part of my "rules".

I do know that some of them are going to be dogs and this is one of them.

Now to look at the positive the quilting is not bad? Oh my!!

Now I need to ask all of you who watch Mad Men..............what do you think of the first 2 shows? I feel like they are a little slow but think it will pick up. Next question has Betty Draper/January Jones really put on that much weight or is it fake? My husband and I almost did not recognize her. I know she was pregnant when they filmed this season but for some of the time it almost looked fake. Anyone know?

Things I Am Hooked On

Joan, Roger, Don and Betty

Can you believe it!! Mad Men characters as Barbie Dolls!! Not for kids ($75.00 each) and no cigarettes or drinks included. I may have to put these on my Christmas list. I love the Betty doll, it kind of looks like her.

Blue Basket Block #2

I thought I was done making these for the afternoon and then I had a half hour before physical therapy so I whipped another one up. They are so fun and so easy. I think it is going to be a 9 block wall hanging. I got my inspiration from a Japanese book called All My Thanks And Love To Quilts.

Do I see a Heath Bar in there?

I seem to keep putting my hand in here too......it needs to leave the house...now.

I'm Just Saying....

I love the show "Mad Men". We almost never watch it on Sunday as we are too tired to stay up that late. We watched it last night and I just want to be in that time period again, as an adult! The fashions are to die for, not to mention all the stereotypes from the 60's. It will make you cringe as a woman, to see how they were treated at home and in the work place.
I think Betty is beautiful, she reminds me of Princess Grace. Don Draper is handsome and quite the lady's man!
If you have not watched this get the previous seasons you will not be disappointed.
