Farmer's Wife
I would never make it as a Farmer's Wife. I don't want to be outside any longer than necessary today. The chickens would starve and the eggs would freeze if I were in charge!
The sun is shining but the wind is blowing and the temp is 25*.
I have decided my Farmer's Wife quilt blocks are coming to an end. Forty nine is a good amount and I am ready to be finished. They are hanging up on my design wall until I decide how I want to set them. The inspirational quilt made by Carla of Lollyquiltz had a some on point, which I really like. Carla made ALL of the blocks so her quilt looks amazing! I am not so sure I am putting any of mine on point. We will see. I do think they need some sashing though to let them breath. That will be tedious.

49 is a great number!! All your blocks look amazing too!! Wonderful bright springy colours to warm up a winters day.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful collection of blocks!
ReplyDeleteSashing is always tedious, but it does work very well on occasion! Love your wonderfully cheerful farmers wife blocks!
ReplyDeletethis is a gorgeous array of blocks; i would never even attempt making this one--never mind being a Farmer's wife. Nope! hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI first met you when I admired a FW block you posted. I love you blocs and fabric and color choices. I did 49 also and it turned into a nice size. I look forward to seeing what you decided to do with these beautiful blocks.
ReplyDeletelove your blocks! so fun and cheerful - as always. 49 looks like a good size.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful and inspiring design board you have.
I wanna come and play at your house!
Your blocks are happy and will look great together. Fun to play with on a cold snowy day.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look so happy up there on the design wall. One day I will get to that book.
ReplyDeleteI would have a lot of trouble on a dairy farm. I would struggle to get up early to milk each day!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great. Good idea to stop at a happy point otherwise you don't enjoy the quilt any more. I do agree about the need for sashing.
What a great job you have done on your blocks! I am a firm believer of the theory that less is more, so I am confident that they will make one stunning quilt. Good luck with all that sashing!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful...it's nice to stop when you feel it's right.
ReplyDeleteSo you have left the farm? I hear ya sista--I love & drool looking at them however I never made to this farm at all. I started with the Tula Pink Farm (Modern version of F/W). I only made it to block 4! Your colors are beautiful and looking forward to see your layout!
ReplyDeleteNo farm for me either. To hell with chickens and eggs. I'd stay in and eat peanut butter. I'm starting a quilt called The Golfers Wife. Not really.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you about the cold...brrr! Love the blocks though, they are very bright and sunny!
ReplyDeletewow you are really a wild farmer's wife! lol
ReplyDeleteThey will make a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't been making my blocks so publicly and with Cindy to keep me going, I'd probably have bailed before they were all made! Yours are so cheery and I sure agree that white space separates the blocks and makes them shine. . . also makes the quilt larger!!
