Farmer's Wife

I would never make it as a Farmer's Wife. I don't want to be outside any longer than necessary today. The chickens would starve and the eggs would freeze if I were in charge!
The sun is shining but the wind is blowing and the temp is 25*.

I have decided my Farmer's Wife quilt blocks are coming to an end. Forty nine is a good amount and I am ready to be finished. They are hanging up on my design wall until I decide how I want to set them. The inspirational quilt made by Carla of Lollyquiltz had a some on point, which I really like. Carla made ALL of the blocks so her quilt looks amazing! I am not so sure I am putting any of mine on point. We will see. I do think they need some sashing though to let them breath. That will be tedious.

  5. I first met you when I admired a FW block you posted. I love you blocs and fabric and color choices. I did 49 also and it turned into a nice size. I look forward to seeing what you decided to do with these beautiful blocks.

  9. I would have a lot of trouble on a dairy farm. I would struggle to get up early to milk each day!
Your blocks look great. Good idea to stop at a happy point otherwise you don't enjoy the quilt any more. I do agree about the need for sashing.

  10. What a great job you have done on your blocks! I am a firm believer of the theory that less is more, so I am confident that they will make one stunning quilt. Good luck with all that sashing!

  12. So you have left the farm? I hear ya sista--I love & drool looking at them however I never made to this farm at all. I started with the Tula Pink Farm (Modern version of F/W). I only made it to block 4! Your colors are beautiful and looking forward to see your layout!

  13. No farm for me either. To hell with chickens and eggs. I'd stay in and eat peanut butter. I'm starting a quilt called The Golfers Wife. Not really.

  17. If I hadn't been making my blocks so publicly and with Cindy to keep me going, I'd probably have bailed before they were all made! Yours are so cheery and I sure agree that white space separates the blocks and makes them shine. . . also makes the quilt larger!!
