When I was a little girl in the fifties my mom would change me from "play clothes" into a dress just to go to our small town's grocery store to shop. Times have certainly changed! I'm not so comfortable with the new standards of the day.
I'm in total agreement with that sentiment. And, I could do with seeing a lot less skin and underwear when I go out in public. Most of us look better with a bit of coverage, but you sure wouldn't know it if you go to the mall.
When I was a kid my Mom put on a dress and make up any time she left the house. Church required heels and a hat and gloves. I am ok with being comfortable, but jammies are not for outdoor wear.
As kids, we always had to get dressed up to go into town. It was a reflection on how well our mother cared for us. I did see a woman at the ATM in her jammies and slippers with dressing gown, lol.
sometimes I regret it - like when you used to get "dressed up" to fly on a airplane. You should have seen some of the rif raf I saw this past weekend. xo
Amen! I remember when I was at my Grandma's house, I had to come in and change clothes in the afternoon because Grandpa was coming home from work. Seems like a more civil time....
