HST!

My HST quilt is done! I really enjoyed making this quilt but it did take longer than I thought it would.

I did not add any yellow or orange....

The quilting is a daisy with some loops. Totally omitted this when I posted it yesterday......it was quilted by Susie Racobaldo! She has quilted quilts for me in the past.

Some favorite blocks, the scissors and scooters...

those glasses too.

I love the crinkly look!

It's pretty ugly around here. The great migration upstairs has started. Yesterday my husband and I spent a few hours hauling all my furniture/very heavy things upstairs. It was quite a workout, I was sweating the whole day.

It's amazing how bad your things look outside of your sewing room. I am hoping to get it all back together by next weekend. Just hauling all the fabric upstairs is not a whole lot of fun and takes a lot of time.
The good thing is that I am cleaning stuff out for my guilds' auctions, I feel less guilty about getting rid of it. Some one will use it.
I also am adding to my scrap piles, so if you haven't already, be sure to go and leave me a comment HERE  and you could win a box full of scraps.
Back to work,
Kelly

  1. Be still my beating heart - I love your quilt!! So many fun fabrics!! Your daisy quilting is wonderful. Good luck with moving up stairs. I think you'll really enjoy the change and it's a good chance to have a good sort out of your sewing things. I hope you find some fun things you'd forgotten about, they're like rewards for your hard work.

  2. Your triangle quilt is simply awesome....love all the funky fabrics you included. Moving is so much work, but I bet you will love it once it's done...hang in there!! ( I hope there were no shocked looks from your hubby when he was helping to haul all that fabric goodness!)

  8. It always feels good to regift quilting things. And amazing how much stuff fits on shelves. I had to move everything upstairs when my quilting studio flooded. Nothing got ruined but I did a lot of sorting, in fact it's time to do it again.

I'm sure your move to higher quarters will be great once all is in place. I too went through everything when I moved and really weeded out. Felt great -

  19. LOVE LOVE LOVE the half square triangles. Don't know if I could hang in there long enough for a large quilt but it would make a great baby quilt.

  21. I got banished to the basement ;-( still working on organizing but got my first used sewing table <3 that & a large book shelf that a friend was getting rite of. Don't have a lot of stash as I am working on my first quilts. Yes, first quilts; the quilt group I joined in January 2012 did not work on any quilts because everyone had to many UFO's, this year they stated with Jenny B. Moon Glow, Confiti, A Blooming 9 patch, Elenor Burns Underground Railroad & America the Beautiful just to name a few & I am killed over my head, would've loved something easy like this HST! What size blocks are your hst & finished block? PS will never get got up so many easier quilts that are just beautiful that I want to do - but I don't want to give up invested to much $$$ to quit!

  22. I am trying to collect any scraps I can as all I have are fat quarters. I hate to cut them up, but it looks like the only way for me to have a scrap stash. Pick me, pick me!!!
