KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE MY BLOW DRYER RUN!

Bee Day

Ellen, Robin and Sara

Yesterday I helped some members of one of the bees I belong to learn how to dye fabric. Here they are madly mixing up dyes so we can get started.

Ellen, Kim and Sara
We had a beautiful day, not too hot and lots of sun.

Robin was nice enough to let us make a mess in her yard!

Surprisingly enough they were very neat. Robin and Sara both had white on with very little dye on their clothing.

All in all it was a very nice day. They want to do it again now that they know there are limitless possibilities!

Wonderful results ladies!

  1. yummy colours! I was intimidated by dyeing until I did it and realized it isn't difficult, just a bit messy.

  4. That looks like such a fun and fabulous day. I love the photos of the fabrics laying on the grass throughout the garden, it looks like a big garden quilt!! I was impressed that people dressed in white, I would have have dye everywhere!!

  6. I'm so impressed, Kelly!! What a fun day. I've never dyed fabric except for back in the day when we all put a packet of tan Rit in our machines to turn every piece of fabric dreary and "antiqued"....at least that's what I did!

  10. What beautiful colors! I'm glad everyone had fun . . . I want to dye again, and don't know if the weather will cooperate with me. Now your friends are in love with dyeing too, aren't they?

  11. I've done that with friends too. It's quite the process. I liked being educated about how to dye fabric, but I didn't care for the process to accomplish it. So glad we can do what suits, or doesn't suit, our fancies.
