KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE MY BLOW DRYER RUN!

April Wedding Shower

A warning in advance, my pictures are not so good as it is raining here today.

Saturday I am going to a wedding shower. I decided to make a card instead of buying one. I love the sketchyness of the stitches and even the little bit of frayed edges of the umbrella.
Tip: I did not have any card stock so I took a manila file folder and cut it with the folded edge to the left, voila a perfect card!

I like how it is not "perfect", not that I could have made it that way!

This was the first one I made to experiment. I stitched the black part that goes to the handle and the little bit up top. Not a good idea it perforated the card, plus they are uneven (:

It went right through.....

Picture taken in the rain!

We are also asked to bring a garden or kitchen gadget. I am going to dig up some of these scillia bulbs as I am sure she will get 50 hand shovels! These are the prettiest blue flowers and they spread to beautifully.

So along with a mandolin and these pot holders I also edged a dish towel with the same fabric as the potholders. The little extras will feel a bit more personable.

Stay dry today! I think we are in for a couple of heavy downpours!

  2. I am in the market for a new sewing machine; am very unhappy with mine. May I ask what sewing machine you use? All of your works really look neat and your points come out looking perfect. thanks, Julierose
