I really like this fabric and wish I was sewing with it today. There is always tomorrow. I am feeling cranky about this...
This will be the back, yes another baby quilt. My cousin had her first grandchild, she deserves a quilt.
Now for the food part. I am trying to change my diet, man is it hard. It is also making me cranky. Have you ever tried to get all the sugar out of your diet? It is in everything! I have to do this. I am hoping by putting it on the blog it will make me "accountable" you know kind of like a blogwatchers! This could work.....
Kelly
The fabrics are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAll the sugar (maltose, fructose, dextrose, etc) or just sucrose? It would be incredibly difficult - good luck with it!
I did the South Beach Diet for 2 weeks, cutting out all sugars (that WAS tough!). But I found that after those two weeks, I didn't crave the sugar as much and now I eat just a fraction of the sugar I used to. So it definitely helped me get away from the craving. Love the fabrics, BTW!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you picked and the little angels(?) for the backing are adorble. I can't wait to see the baby quilt you create with them.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your diet, I don't know if I could do it. Can you do it gradually so you get used to less and less as you go? Maybe you wouldn't feel so deprived that way too.
Well, good luck, I hope you find a way that works for you.
Love those angels. I think I once had that fabric. Have you tried Splenda? That is all I use now and rarely use sugar.
ReplyDeleteI tried a few months ago to cut out sugar. It's so hard because it is in everything!! I managed about 2 months and my life got hectic but Im hoping to try again. After the grumpy phase you do feel better. I love those pretty blues youve picked out.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I say, you can do it. I was determined to remove sugar and all starchy foods (bread, pasta, rice, crackers) from my diet, and I have. Initially it was extremely difficult, but now, after nine months of it, I've become accustomed to it. Since I lost the weight I wanted and am now maintaining, I allow myself an indulgence now and again, but honestly, the little baking I've done and eaten isn't even appealing to me anymore. I've lost my taste for it, and am perfectly happy with yogurt, or a diet drink. On a rare occasion, a few marshmellows hit the spot. How pitiful is that?! All the best in your effort. I KNOW you can do it. Fortitude dear girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bunch of fabrics. I love the backing. It's pretty hard to give up sugar, it's such an addictive food.
ReplyDeleteOh the blues are pretty nice! I can not wait to see what becomes of these fabrics.
ReplyDeleteCut out sugar from my diet! Hmm...that is a thought. Now are you cutting all the starch back too? I think that would be hard for me. I would have to rethink my lifestyle. Being vegetarian, that would be really difficult for me.
Good luck! I know you can do it!
I'm catching up on my blog reading....love your blue fabrics. I'm sorry that you got hit with the power outages for so long...hope things are back to normal. Kelly, my husband and I are traveling to Maine and may be in your area on our way back home...maybe we could meet up at a local quilt shop that is near to you or something. (I won't suggest getting dessert or anything like that!LOL)
ReplyDeleteOh yea, I have been giving up sugar too and it's damn hard.
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part is wine, um, I can't find white wine without it!
I lied, I thought I was a follower, but now I definitely am!
