I was going to wait to post until Friday but I just had to show you this!
I came across a blog called Minki Kim's Work Table. Every single thing she made was adorable and so simple yet lovely.
I actually made this pretty quickly. I have always liked thread sketching and will be making some more. I need some practice.
This is a mini quilt for a Kaffe swap I am in that is due in early fall. All the fabric has to be Kaffe Fasset. I used the 60* Triangles on a Roll paper and it worked really well. When it was time to sew those rows together they matched up like a dream.
So far the papers are coming off pretty easily too. Don't forget to enter THE GIVEAWAY to win some Triangle on a Roll for yourself. I also want to clear something up.......I am using the 60* triangles. Some people wanted to win that one. I don't have a new roll, but would be happy to give out the rest of what I have left (quite a lot). The two rolls that I do have are half square triangles and quarter square triangle. Please go back and under your comment hit reply and put in your email if it isn't there. I need to be able to contact you.
To keep it real........My neice is getting married this fall. I wanted to add some handmade things to the other shower gifts I got her. Ugh! I really dislike the hexagonal one and am not giving it to her, it's just too plain ugly. The round ones are better but my binding is less that stellar!
I will have the names of the winners posted early on Friday morning good luck! You all have made me laugh at your guesses as to which picture is me....I will give you the answer too.
Kelly
Take a fresh look.........that hexagonal one is really GOOD LOOKING. I bet she would love it.......I WOULD !
ReplyDeleteI would let her be the judge, I like the hexie one. The round ones are cute too, though. Love the thread sketch, that's adorable. Off to check that out...thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteWhy you dislike it ? Be sure that she will love it because it's cute and made with love ....like the others ! No doubt about that !
ReplyDeleteThe thread sketching is so interesting. I've only tried it once and thought it really fun.:)
ReplyDeleteI love your mini quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the thread sketching, I'm off to check it out!
It's wonderful to see you've been having fun in your sewing room making fabulous things - that includes the hexie pot holder, it looks great in the photo.
ReplyDeleteI love this thread skettching technique. I've had an idea in mind for a while to thread sketch.m how did you attach the fabric for the pot? The triangle on roll project looks great. Too bad you need to remove the paper.
ReplyDeleteWow. You are fabulous with your needle sketching skills, Kelly! I'm in love with that wee pincushion. You've definitely got to make more for us to enjoy. ;o)
ReplyDeleteSuper gorgeous Kaffe mini that you're working on. Oh, those colours and all those dots have me itching to stitch something similar, it's just so wonderful looking!
Your little thread-sketched pin cushion is just adorable! I'll have to look at that link.
ReplyDeleteYour Kaffe piece is beautiful! Love all the dots and such glorious colors!
You're pot holders look good, they just don't look like your usual style. There's nothing wrong with them! But you have to be comfortable with what you're gifting to someone, so I understand.
