Waiting for Spring.

I made this quilt last winter in anticipation of spring. It is from Applique Outside the Lines by Piece O' Cake. I love all of their quilts and as soon as I saw this one I just had to make it. I love how it graduates from the light colored backgrounds to the darker blue backgrounds....it is exactly like the book.

Here is a close up of the quilting which is just outline quilting around each leaf. I started to quilt the individual leaves (2) and decided it would take forever and quit.
This was a lot of fun to make and so easy. I think it is a good first applique project.

  4. I agree, great project! I love the blues but really love how the scrappy orange borders pieces really bring out the branches too. Really, really nice!
