Spools of Thread Mini Quilt
Technically it's not a mini but that is what we call them at our guild. Next year we have our Penn Oaks Quilt show and one of the main events is our small/mini quilt raffle. Almost every member makes one (some make more). We do this instead of a large raffle quilt which can be very specific and not to everyone's taste.
The quilt is 16" x 24" and they are all the same size. Every pattern or theme is welcome! The thread in my spools is about 3/8" wide to give you a perspective.
I like all the cheerful colors and hope I get some takers! Imagine this in your sewing room....
I really like the fabric for the binding, it makes it feel playful to me.
If you have the opportunity to attend any small local show please do so. For our guild it is the major fundraiser and helps us to pay for our programs. It is getting harder and harder for guilds, especially small ones to put on shows. For the price of a yard of fabric, you can see some awesome quilts and vendors! I promise you will not be disappointed!

I love your mini! I think you did a great job. I have been thinking about making something very similar for my sewing space. :) The bright cheery binding is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhoever gets this quilt will be a lucky person to have such a gorgeous, bright happy quilt. I love what you have written about supporting local quilt shows!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so HAPPY! I'd certainly be buying raffle tickets for it! A mini quilt raffle is a great idea... I think I'll suggest it to my guild. happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great quilt show - so impressive for a guild. Oh, and I won one of your quilts last time!!!
ReplyDeleteMy tickets are going for that quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt ! It's very bright and it sparkles !
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job Kelly !
GREAT MINI-Love the colors (as usual). Hopefully I will be there next to bid on it!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why it came up unknown. This is Helen (@ till we quilt again)
DeleteAnd now it used my FIL name---AGHHHHH!!!
Deletethis is adorable. It shows that half inch wide fabric still captures the color and pattern.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is super cute. I like your guilds idea of multiple minis it spreads out the work and offers lots of buyers appeal.
ReplyDeleteLove the variegated fabrics you used for you threads, great use if bits and pieces!
ReplyDeletethis is such a great mini quilt for auction! I would love to have it in my sewing room - who wouldn't?
ReplyDeleteI just love this mini quilt, wish I could bid on it!! I might have to try to make one too! Such a cute design!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so cute, what a great size! If I didn't live so far away, Southern California, I would attend and buy chances on it. Good luck! My guild is preparing for our second handmade items boutique sale. Everyone makes lots of different things to sell, it's fun to see all the different items there. There are a few quilts for sale too.
ReplyDeleteLovely mini! So colourful. And yes, I can see that in many different sewing rooms.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Iowa, the Des Moines guild did this too. Small quilts in a silent auction. Of course, the neatest ones captured the highest bids. This one should do really well, Kelly. You've thoughtfully selected a theme that's very appropriate for many quilters and sewists, and you've picked colors that make us smile. I'm a sucker for happy colors! Your quilt will do well, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteUtterly charming! I love every detail.
