New Things

Isn't it interesting that you can convince yourself of something even though it may not be what you see? You could look at this strawberry and think Christmas or you could see Valentine's day. It's like reading between the lines, it can get you into trouble. I am going to try and do less reading between the lines this year. I don't do resolutions but think of how much time you spend wondering this that or the other thing when in reality it is just a strawberry, albeit a very cute strawberry!

I am so excited about this new experience! Last night was the first meeting and the energy in the room was palatable. The 3 people who decided to start this new guild were very organized and I think this will be a vibrant community of quilters.

I am still making squares and I won't lie it is tedious even with my super cool ruler! In the end I know how much he is going to love the quilt. Now if I can just stop making mistakes.

Of course there are new ideas on the table.

But that table could use a good cleaning!

  1. table looks tidy compared to mine! A creative mess?

  2. Don't give up with the squares ! Ah ! Ah !
I don't have grandchildren yet but, maybe in a few year, I certainly will do the same.....

  3. Very fun to join the modern quilt guild! It would be so interesting to have the different perspective. Great start on your black and white triangles. Can't wait to see where you're going with these!

  4. It was great to meet you last night! I hope we can live up to everyones expectations! Thanks for taking the time to come out on one of the first COLD nights of the year!

    1. I don't think you need to worry about living up to our expectations! This was beyond what I was expecting! And you all have great ideas!

  5. Strawberry cuteness for sure!!

Cleanin' Smeanin'……stick with the FUN stuff!!

  6. Sounds like the new year is bringing you new ideas and opportunities. Have fun!

  7. Kelly- you have lots of room on that table compared to mine! Sad how cluttered a work space can become!

  8. The Lancaster guild sounds great. I wish I didn't live so far away. My closest is Baltimore...about 1 1/2 hours...almost as far as Lancaster.

  9. Your table looks very clean to me :) And congrats on joining the Mod Guild--I am sure you will enjoy the freeing-ness and look forward to seeing what you create--I am sure it will be good.

  10. How exciting to be part of a new guild. Hope it goes really well.
I think your work table looks like you are working!!

  11. I'm excited for you to join the group and share new ideas and quilts with us! I wish there was a modern group closer to me. I work best in a messy environment myself! That strawberry is so cute, the seed beads are perfect.
I like that little black and white bit :)

  12. Can't wait to see more of the triangles. Black and white, interesting departure.

I love to read your comments, they make my day!
