KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE MY BLOW DRYER RUN!

Ugh!
I had such grand plans. Such enthusiasm and hope. Excitement!
Inspiration!
I was even organized!
But I just wasn't feeling it. I put it all away for another day. Does that happen to you? Do you push through or move on?
I think it needs some more simmering before I go back to it.
On a much more productive note the sashing and cornerstones are complete and ready to be sewn on. When all else fails get the UFOs out!

I usually move on these days. I used to would push through, but it never really worked out for me so I've learned to do some thinking first! I love what you have started! I'm sure knowing you, you'll be able to come up with something wonderful.:)
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is going to be wonderful! And good for you for putting something away that just isn't moving you.
ReplyDeleteYou'll go back to it another day; or not!! We need to feel free to do that.!!
Oh this happens ALL the time--and putting it away to simmer a bit seems to refresh it and/or give me a new take on it...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI've done both. I think sometimes putting it away for a while is best. Especially in this case because look what a wonderful set of blocks you have ready to be put together. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteI like the 3-D ring effect the dark/light sides give it. I'm with you though -- put it away to let it breathe for a bit.
ReplyDeleteKnowing when to walk away for awhile is a great skill. Every time I've forced something it only got worse!! I think you are definitely onto something with your project.
ReplyDeleteYes, don't force it. I am loving the strippy arcs, but if they aren't ready, they aren't ready.
ReplyDeleteAll things come to those who wait. ;-)
it's a bummer when a project kind of fizzles on you. Sometimes a project needs to simmer in your mind for awhile. I've learned to let it. My subconscious mind usually comes up with something better! Good for you for letting it rest. It'll be better next time, and I know you'll come up with something great!
ReplyDeleteWell at least it encouraged you to work on a UFO. Some things work and some things don't, that's the way it goes, though maybe they'll work another day.
ReplyDeleteYes, that happens to me and it ends up as a fabric playing session. In the first photo, it looks like 3D circles. Love how the small blocks are playing together.
ReplyDeleteUFO's are just waiting to be of service. Those strip colors are luscious For another day.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! I did that just this week. Got out fabrics for a quilt I thought I wanted to make and put it away for another day. Pulled out a UFO and it is working beautifully!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry..it's your quilt and your decision ! And it happened several times to me .....
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will finished it another month with lot of pleasure!
Yes, that makes a lot of sense. And then some time in the future an idea pops up and all these pieces come out again.
ReplyDeletelet it simmer - you'll do something amazing with it one day!
ReplyDeleteSome days it is better to just walk away and read a book! Or like what you had done--move onto something else!
ReplyDeleteSome days you are just not in the mood. Beautiful blocks.
ReplyDeleteHappens all the time! Let it simmer. You'll go back to these beautiful seeds when you're ready. Your subconscious needs to do some work on it:)
ReplyDeleteFor me, sometimes looking at the picture of it unlocks something. It's the benefit of sharing! I hope the process of creating this post is the key to moving forward for you.
