Quilt Show Wrap Up and Hand Dye Give Away
The show was wonderful! It is taking me along time to catch up with my real life after being gone for 3 days.
I was very happy that everything went smoothly and every single person that I talked to commented on how beautiful our show looked. We are a small guild, only 60 members but everyone contributes in many ways.
I am not going to post all the pictures here. You can go to our Penn Oaks Quilt Guild Newsletter to see most of the quilts.
Fallon, Griffin, Elliot and Maddy's Pumpkin Head Quilt won a Judges Choice ribbon! They were so happy, Maddy has already taken the ribbon home with her.
My Dear Diary quilt got a blue ribbon. It made all that work worth it!
I also won a Judges's Choice for this little quilt, the one that was made with the leftovers of another quilt!
This is Betsy Moses and her quilt won Best of Show. They loved her borders, they even measured them with a tape measure!
I celebration of our wonderful quilt show I am giving away all these hand dyed fabrics and........
this adorable pin cushion made by Robin, one of our members.
Some close ups for you to see. The colors look truer in the picture of them all together.
Here's what you do. Leave me a comment and tell me what kind of raffles do you like and dislike at a quilt show. Become a follower if you aren't already. I will pick the name next Wednesday May 15th.
Good Luck!
Kelly

Wow the Pinkadot family swept the show! Congratulations! All the quilts look great but that diary quilt is really special! I love raffles of any kind but prefer ones for books and gadgets... I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteGood morning from sunny KY!
ReplyDeleteI am all about the fabric when I enter raffles. Maybe a few gadgets and thread but I won't enter if it's something I don't really want. Better that it should go to someone who does want it than me who will let it linger and then give or donate it. But any fabric and I'm all in....never met a piece I didn't think I would eventually use!

I enjoy the raffles for fabric and quilts! Looks like you had a great show. Thanks for sharing. I'm a follower too.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all those ribbons.
ReplyDeleteI love raffles for quilting supplies rather than finished quilts and have been a follower for quite some time.

Hmmm, raffles - I usually enter for the guild's raffle quilt, but what I really like are the raffle baskets. Like, maybe about 10 baskets full of goodies maybe on a theme, like vintage fabrics/sewing, cooking, dogs, wine, but they all include some fabric (usually) too. Never won, but I always enter! Congrats on your ribbons!
ReplyDeletefabric love that now more than any thing else
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your ribbons! Well deserved. I think its always an honor to get a judges choice.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your quilts at the show.
Congrats to the Best of Show - her quilt is wonderful.
I like raffle quilts and mini-quilt raffles. I don't like non-quilting related prizes, but that's just me.
I will go see the rest of the quilts.. love the eye candy and congrat's on your ribbons.
ReplyDeleteI usually buy a raffle ticket for a quilt and always for a fabric/gadget/pattern basket.
Thanks for a chance at your generous giveaway.
Congratulations on your winnings. Good job well done. Raffles - anytime and anywhere. There are always wonderful goodies to win. Just depends on luck. I am all for winning fabric. There is always a pattern for it. I am a faithful follow of your and always enjoy my constant visits. Thank you for the fabulous giveaway. Who knows? I may be the lucky one.

Congratulations on all those ribbons!! How exciting!! I'm so happy the Halloween quilt won a prize. As for raffles I like sewing related things like fabric or tools. My local quilt show was lucky enough to get sponsored prize of a sewing machine prize one year.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the ribbons for your beautiful quilts.
ReplyDeleteI like any raffle that involves fabric, and/or patterns, books. Quilts too of course.
Congratulations, Kelly! I'm so happy for you with all those wins. It's such a great feeling of accomplishment, isn't it? Please don't enter me in your giveaway, but thank you anyway for your generosity. You're a very special person.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all your ribbons!! Whoo hoo! I love your quilts, and I'm glad the judges did too.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice giveaway! I am a long-time follower.
My favorite raffle is one we do at my guild. A basket stuffed to the gills with all batik fat quarters! We make lots of money on that one. I always buy lots of tickets for that one. :)
I am just a Beginner Quilter Wannabee and would love to have all those Great Fabrics to start some Projects with.. The Pin cushion is adorable... Congratulations to Pinkadot Quilts for being Ribbon Winners at the Show. Love the idea of Fabrics in Raffles as well as notions and Gadgets.. especially for Beginners like me.. Thank you for such a Great Site...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all your ribbons! So thrilled the Diary Quilt got a blue ribbon - it is such a memory quilt! I like raffles for fabrics the most! I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteHey Kelly, Congrats on your wins! I have to say that your Diary quilt is one of my favorite all time quilts and I am so glad it won!!! I think most quilters love fabric raffles but I am a sucker for quilt raffles most of all :) Have a great day and congrats again!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Mickie
Judge's Choice...my favorite ribbon! And to get two!! You so deserve them.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you draw my name I will be you BFF Amen! Heck...I might make you something!
My favorite raffle was your small raffle quilts at our Penn Oaks show. I also love all the fabric and thread raffles I am seeing these days.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI like raffles that offer lots of small items so more people can win!
Follower already!

ReplyDeleteHey Kelly, I had alot of fun at the Penn Oaks show! The small quilt raffle is definitely my favorite quilt raffle now. :-) Even tho I didn't win one.:-(
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and to Maddy too! I love anything quilt related but fabric is my favorite for a raffle.
ReplyDeleteLots of beautiful quilts! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I love raffles that include fabric or quilts.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your ribbons. I love the raffle baskets offered at many quilt shows and prefer the ones filled with quilting fabric, patterns etc. Frankly I rarely buy a ticket for a guild's raffle quilt as I already have so many unless I find it to be something really special.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your ribbons. Looks like some beautiful quilts. I like the raffles with theme baskets the most, holidays, colors, trims etc.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great show. Congratulations to Fallon, Griffin, Elliot and Maddy!
ReplyDeleteThe only raffles I have ever seen at quilt shows are for one specially made quilt. I would prefer a big basket of fabric so I could make my own!
Congratulations on your well-deserved wins! And thanks for sharing this absolutely awesome fabric. As for raffles, I love baskets filled with an assortment of things - notions, thread, patterns, fabric. One of the local quilt shops in our area also gives certificates for long arm rental time at their shop.
