Whispers of Spring

Twice now I have accidentally deleted the text for my post......so it will be short and sweet.
I love this bag I received from my friend Stephanie. It is so cute and functional!!!

It fits all my bits and bobs for applique when I go to my bee. It was made by Chase of Quarter Inch Mark.

I went to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival this weekend with friends. I have been eyeing this book up and love all the quilts inside!

My friend Cindy was the instigator for this gorgeous Cherrywood fabric stash. The colors are so cheery!

Last year I did a Sew Along. It was the Trinket Quilt by Alison Glass. I decided it was time to get it off the pile of things to do.

Simple straight line quilting that I think lends itself to a more modern type quilt. It's kind of boring to do but I love the results.

I took this out of storage and made a few more panels. It's slowly coming along using up all those scraps.

I have had some good luck with book picks from the library. Oh my goodness this was a good one. It will stay with you for a long time, I promise.

  1. Your new book seems to be very popular. Have fun. The machine quilting on your trinket quilt is perfect for the modern look. The stitching looks like you used a thick thread?

  3. Hello Kelly! You are more patient than I will all of those beautiful parallel rows of quilting! I agree, I love the look, but it takes so long, and I'm not usually happy with the results. Sometimes I get pulls between the rows, not nice and smooth like yours looks. Nice work!

  4. wish I could have gone to the show too! Your cherrywood fabrics are so so so pretty, how will you ever cut into them? Oh that's my problem... They look like french cookies! I looked up a review of that book and it sounds intriguing but a bit scary. Is this one you can read at night? lol... actually it sounds like a great movie plot. I love a good book. LeeAnna

  5. The straight line quilting might be kind of boring to sew, but it definitely has its place in quilting! Love the little bag with the triangles. So sweet.:) And the solids are wonderfully bright! I'm always a bit paralyzed by the idea of working with a lot of them at one time, but I'm sure you'll make something wonderful right away!

Your trinkets quilts is so fun and cheerful! Love love your straight line quilting. Looks so good on this modern quilt.
I really liked Crooked Letter Crooked Letter, but so much of it was heartbreaking. Makes you really think how you treat people and our judgement of others. Great Recommend!!
