Oh Cherry!
I love this little mini cherry quilt. It is going to be in the mini raffle quilts at our quilt show next year. The pattern is from Fig Tree and Co.
I even had this cherry fabric in my stash for a backing, perfect!
Instead of putting a sleeve on these minis, I am using the triangle corner method which is fast and works well with this size (18 x 18). All you do is push a dowel in the corners and hang it up.
The pattern instructions had the quilting done in a crosshatch pattern. At first I didn't think I wanted to do that but decide to give it a try. I think it was a good pick, and it went fast. I used 40 weight Aurifil and lengthened my stitch to 4 on my Bernina.
I wanted to use the same red polka dot border fabric the binding. I didn't have enough and chose this one with a white flower, I like it better than the polka dot.
Hopefully I have one more to show you tomorrow......

That is so sweet. And I love the idea for the dowel in the back! Perfect choice for binding, too. Oh and the backing is amazing!
ReplyDeleteso super cute! I love the backing print. You always have the funnest fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest wall hanging! I can imagine it hanging in a retro kitchen with red cupboards and a checkerboard Lino floor!

ReplyDeleteOh that is so cute. Fresh and bright. I love how it will be already to hang!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. I do like the binding. I also really like the corner triangles. Much faster than putting a small sleeve on a mini. Need to file that tip some where safe.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Hope it finds a happy home.
