Today Is Another Day

Today's sewing adventure was much better! I think this morning I made 3 blocks in the time it took me to make the 1 yesterday.

I am enjoying these blocks, especially with the quick flying geese method. They go together very quickly.

So this is how it is going together. A polka dot print in between the stars. The projected size is 30 x 30 but I am also thinking about doing a pieced border, we will see.

This is what my horoscope said in today's paper. Interesting, I think it is telling me to work on my math skills!

  1. Darling stars! I love your plan to space the blocks with polka dot only blocks. Will be so gorgeous!

  2. These blocks are really cute. Good idea not to make these stars with directional fabric (been there!). I'm doing a quilt with these blocks now, love the star and the quilt, but 72 small star blocks and 18 large ones is taking forever. Can't wait to see yours finished.

  3. They are beautiful blocks! I am a big fan of the spot fabric and the star fabrics are just lovely. I am pretty sure you have the makings of a very lovely quilt. How uncanny your star sign prediction. Its like it was written just for you.

  5. Did you know Math Avoidance is a skill? I know because I have practiced avoiding math for years. And I'm pretty darned skilled at it, if I do say so myself. You solved the star drafting problem creatively without caving in to (shudder) math and your blocks are beautiful.

    Glad sewing went better today.

  8. Oh my stars, your stars are gorgeous! I love the raspberry pinks you are using. That skill could be referring to being one of the ladies at the circus who can stand on a horse as it's trotting around the ring. I always thought that looked impressive and they get to wear such wonderful costumes.

  10. Sometimes you have to learn from all those first mistakes to get the rest going well! It's going to be such a delightful quilt and glad it's moving along now! Such happy fabrics!
