Wild Wednesday

We had some wild weather here yesterday. Over 5 inches of rain fell and there was a lot of flooding in our area. I don't know when the weather is going to cooperate to get outside and work in the garden. I bought these gerbera daisies the other day at a farm market because the red was so striking. I had them on my windowsill in the plastic pots and they looked kind of bad and leaked every time they were watered. So when I made some pasta sauce the other night I noticed how much the label matched my flowers. They are only in there temporarily and I think look pretty nice.

Cheryl
Yesterday my friend Cheryl and I hosted a Mystery Quilt Workshop for our guild.

All the ladies had such a good time they did not even finish the quilt top! As usual we had enough food to be there for a few days. They go all out.

We also had a mug rug swap.

Barb won mine! They couldn't have gone to a nicer person!
It was a great way to spend a rainy day. Thanks ladies for a fun day!

  1. Love your tomato can vases. I've used pretty tea tins too for the same purpose - so cute in the kitchen.

  3. Your workshop day sounded like the perfect antidote to the weather. Looks like Barb was pretty happy to win your cute mug rugs!
I love the gerberas in the cans. I, too, collect tins for the same purpose ~ the graphics look great with the flowers. I only wish I had windowsills. :-( None in this house.....

  5. Your cans make cute containers for the flowers. At least until you can plant them so they can grow. It has been wild and wet here too.
It looks like the mystery workshop was lots of fun. And a fun swap too. What a great day.

  7. I love the gerberas in the cans! That workshop with the guild looks so much fun! Do the different members take it in turns to run workshops or did you and Cheryl volunteer. The quilt really is a mystery, there's not one peek of it :) The mug rug swap is such a fun idea.

What a great way to spend your rainy day, food and quilting seem to go hand in hand, but NOT literally!! We always have such good food when our guild gets together too!!

  11. Definitely worth staying inside on that day. And with a group of like minded people you can't go wrong.
We have seen some photos of the creek near our son's home. There sure is a lot of water.
Gorgeous gerberas and they do look good in the tins.
