I am done talking about snow. It is winter and in the winter it snows. This is for my husband who has been out plowing now for 2 days. It will be the first thing he sees when he pulls in the driveway. No special dinner etc for him tonight, he will want to hit the sack!
We are not big on Valentine's Day. My present to him this year is that I shoveled this part of the driveway so he doesn't have to do it when he gets home. It is the part the snow plow can't reach without crashing into the house.
We are running out of places to put it. It is as high as the door!
Some scraps were made yesterday with all that time I had to myself....
I had a Farmer's Wife kind of day.
I really am enjoying picking out the fabrics
I have a limited amount of fabrics I am using.
I keep the yardage together.
It makes it easier to decide which fabrics to use.
Before I started sewing the blocks I sat down and went through the book. On each page I wrote down the colors I wanted to use.
That way when I was ready to sew it made it simple to pick out fabrics. This one is called Honeycomb, I don't see it!
I am doing some fussy cutting but not too much.
The last time I posted FW blocks I said I had 35. Well I lied I only had 25! Now I have 36. I still am not sure if I will do all 111, we will see.
Good luck to everyone digging out, I hear next week it will be almost 60*!

Your blocks are looking great together! Always enjoy seeing the fabric you work with, it's so happy and fun looking. Shoveling snow is a wonderful gift for your husband. Much better than chocolates I'm sure.:)

Kelly, These blocks look adorable! I love the colors you choose for every project of yours. they look fresh and cheery like the spring we are all going to have - SOON! I also like the idea of pre-selection of fabrics and colors.. You are so organized!

I love your heart in the snow!!! That is so romantic. It's amazing seeing all that snow every where. There's just so much!! What will happen when it all starts melting? I love your Farmers Blocks, you pick the best fabrics and you seem to be flying through them!!

ReplyDeleteI so love your color combs for FW. They look so fresh and happy. I have the book and I hope to get to it some day. I am sure I would never have thought to go through the book and put done colors for each block. Sure would be easier then the haphazard way I sometimes approach things. Happy Valentine's Day. Shoveling snow is a truly romantic gesture. My husband would love that more than any other gift, well except maybe chocolate. :)

My valentine's day present (we are also not big on the day) to my hubby was shoveling the sidewalks while he snowplowed at our apt bldgs and then helping him dig out of the snow bank the snowplow got stuck in (the snow was moist and heavy!) at home (right after I finally had a shower, no less!)... hope spring is on its way! I love your fabric choices!

Though all the snow has been challenging, and you're well and good sick of it, the benefit - you must admit - is getting to do so much sewing. Company can't come (easily) and you can't go (easily), so you've just gotta keep sewing. Enjoy!
