Inspiration, Temptation, Education and an Anniversary
I love the colors and design of this West Elm catalog. It might be the circles I like.
I am inspired by these colors on my scarf. Of course it looks way better in real life.
Today I came home to a large box. My son and his family sent us a Key Lime Pie. Look how perfect it is!
That's because today my husband and I have been married 38 years! I got his name tatooed on my finger when I turned 50. It is covered up by my rings so no one ever really sees it, but I know it is there. Good thing his name wasn't long....
This is our new book for book club next month. I am going to start it soon because I really want to read...
this! It comes highly recommended. Has anyone read either of these books? Opinions are welcome.
Not a lot of sewing got done this week, but guess what? Another giant snow storm is on the way for the beginning of next week. My project planning has started.

Happy 38th Anniversary, Kelly And Bob! I never knew about that tattoo! Knowing you, if he had a long name, you would have found just another spot but still done it.. That's really sweet. Enjoy your evening with hubby. That pie looks like a good dessert! I have no idea on the books. You know why :)
ReplyDeleteI am ready for that storm. Lots to do.. Machine is oiled and ready once again!
Congrats on the long marriage and good for you guys! I'm curious...does he have your name tattooed somewhere? We get the storm before you guys do.I'm so tired of winter...just a couple more months...I can make it! Hope you don't get hit too hard by the storms! Cheery wave from Bev
ReplyDeleteHappy 38th! That is just awesome.:)
ReplyDeleteHappy 38th! AND The Art of Racing in the Rain is AWESOME!!! I've read it several times and I usually never do that. The characters are wonderful and the dog...ah the dog.
ReplyDelete38 and going great!! Has Bob got your name tattooed too? I love Keylime Pie. Phil has made a couple, we like to say Keeee lime pie in a southern accent , we probably just sound like Aussies with bad accents. I haven't read those books but will be interested to hear what you think of them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Key lime pie is a favorite of mine too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!! I absolutely LOVED Outlander and the books that follow it ~ one of these days I'm going to start from the beginning again :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!! Love the tat.
ReplyDeleteThat snow is supposed to hit us here this weekend. Maybe we can hope the storm falls apart or something. We can hope right?
Happy Anniversary. The Outlander series is one of the best series I've ever read. The characters became so real to me, that every once and a while I think of them, and wonder what they would be doing now.
ReplyDeletethe Outlander books are WONDERFUL!!! Wish I had them to read, but, alas have read then all... guess I could re-do them. it has been awhile... hmmmm and I HAVE to have that anniversary edition!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary K! Don't you wonder how the years have gone by so fast? Kermits is in Key West. They have a few locations. Enjoy it and please let me know about the book. It looks like one that I may have to read. And one last thing. Please have the weather gods hold off the snow until we get home, please?
ReplyDeleteRacing in the rain has been on my list for awhile. Can't wait to hear what you think: maybe you'll get a dog???!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! love your tatoo. I love to look at catalogs for inspiration too. I used a rug photo for the setting of a log cabin quilt once.
ReplyDeletebooks: loved loved Learning to Race in the Rain. I have started Outlander 2x and just couldn't get into it. It's weird because i love time travel books. Maybe it's timing, I know lots of people who have loved it!
snow, I'm not thinking about it.....but I do have a big quilt to quilt so I'm set.
p.s. I love Key Lime pie - looks delicious
ReplyDeleteHappy happy anniversary! I WANT that pie! I've read all the Outlander books. Not usually my kind of read but was totally hooked. Wanted to go to Scotland in the worst way. Well, still do!
ReplyDeleteHappy aniversary . Love the scarf and Key Lime pie. Your posts are always fun to read.
ReplyDeleteMany belated anniversary wishes. Loved Racing in the Rain - hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary. Looks like you're always full of surprises. That's what makes each year more special. Enjoy the pie!
ReplyDeleteThe color palette in that West Elm shot is absolute gorgeous! Congrats on your wedding anniversary. I love your hidden in plain sight tattoo!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and Bob! Love the tattoo, adorable. I read The Art of Racing In The Rain and it's one of my favorite books. What a beautiful story. Looks like Racing In The Rain is a children's version? So, so happy we missed the snow!!
ReplyDeleteOutlander!? The one by Diana Gabaldon?! If so... A-W-E-S-O-M-E. A girlfriend gifted me the entire set, and I will never sell it. Such good books! I have read them at least three times, the last being on audiobook. Wonderful. I'd hurry through the other one to get to Outlander! Congrats on your anniversary. The tattoo is a unique idea... but something I'd never do. It's apparent you're married to your dream man! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat series ... I've read the first five. Congratulations to you and Bob. Hope you enjoyed your day.
