String Quilts

Monday night Penn Oaks Quilt guild had Madge Ziegler as a speaker. She brought a million antique string quilts that were amazing.

Unfortunately not a lot of my pictures turned out but I think you will like the ones that did turn out.

This one

and this one are new. Hope you enjoyed the show!

  1. I certainly did enjoy your string quiltshow! I hope to make one myself one day. There is also a lot of inspiration from Gwen Marston's books. It must be quite an experiment
to see so many in a show. When I see old quilts I sometimes wish I would be living in the USA;)

  4. I love string quilts! How timely that you would blog about this now. Just yesterday I began string-piecing to create hexagons. Hopefully, it will be part of a border to give some life to a pretty plain Hawaiian appliqué, a UFO I hope to finish soon. Thanks for sharing!
