Early Shopping Will Set You Free

I have been so productive this past week. Once again not having the shopping hanging over my head is the reason, I am convinced! These blocks are from the pattern Stars and Sprigs by Kim McClean.

Every night after dinner, I have been sitting down with my applique. You can almost get a block a night complete.

The blocks are small, only 10 inches. The fabric possibilities are endless and a little daunting, too many choices.

As my Diary Block Quilt is winding down I am trying to decide what to make for the last 2 blocks. Any ideas?.....I am drawing a blank, especially figuring out the last block. What to put on it, should my name be there? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Kelly

  3. Name (or initials) and year!
Love your block fabric choices - that pindot background is great! I've wasted too many evenings lately due to a lack of prepped handwork. I plan to remedy that this morning.

  9. Well Christmas seems an obvious choice. I'm with Barb- a self-portrait set against a New Year's Eve block would be fantastic!

  13. Do you have a favorite family picture DH, DS, DIL, DD and DG? I think it would be perfect and yes you should include your name, city and state.
I love your blocks! I'm hoping next year to finally do some appliqué. It's been years since I appliquéd anything.

  14. For the last quilt maybe you could just get out a pigma pen and start writing about the project - why you started, what was fun, how it got tedious, which are your favorites, etc.
I hope you get the chance to put it all together and display it somewhere. I would love to see it as a whole wall of mini quilts.

  16. For your diary quilt... will a Christmas tree do? Something with snow? Or perhaps packages already wrapped up and a calendar in the background showing November... like you finished early. Do my questions trigger any ideas?
