Diary Block Tuesday #33

How many pairs of scissors do you have? It is amazing how something so simple is such a workhorse in every house. I started counting up all the ones I have just for sewing and stopped looking at 21!
My husband never picks up a pair of scissors without asking "Can I use these to cut paper?" I have trained him well!

  1. YOU HAVE!!! thats so funny I tied ribbons to the ones the family can use in my sewing room
even though I have bought them scissors for each of their rooms seems like they have to come in here to cut off tags from clothes or such...

  2. This block brought a big smile to myself. The polka dot handle, the ways you made the background look like argyle with your quilting and you even made that angled edge. Oh K, I am such a big fan of yours .

  3. What a sweet hubby you have! Kelly, you are truly an artist. It looks like you can pick those scissors up and use them! And I just LOVE the background and your dark thread against the pink. What a delight!

  4. Great block this week. I think I have about 15 pair left. I just gave 2 pair to my DD. I still have my first ever pair of sewing shears. They are Wiss and I still love them.

  5. Polka dot 'Kelly' scissors.. I love that!

I tied strings on my paper scissors too. But still lost some of mine to tags and crafts. Don't know how many I have.
Good you have trained Bob. Nilesh asks first too. It the kids... they used to mess everything up. I miss that.

  6. Kelly, this block is so brilliant!!! I love it! I have about 4 pairs but I lose them under fabric or leave them in sewing project bags and then can't find them so i end up using the paper scissors. I was just thinking the other day I should buy a few more pairs .

  7. How funny--I don't know how many I have!! I know I have one huge, clunky pair that I got as a teen when I first began sewing that make my hand hurt; a friskars little, spring fed one, a serrated edge little bitty one and various dull pairs shoved in drawers all over the house--not too organized there...hubby has 3 pairs all for lefties!! I do not dare to touch them!! A big no-n0 Julierose

  8. Love your scissors block! Esp the polka dots. Love your stitching too. So cute!

Yes, I think my DH is trained now too. It took a few (many) years. I haven't counted how many pairs I have for sewing, but probably not as many as you.

  9. Love your block. I don't have anywhere near that number of scissors but we do have a pair of paper scissors that are centrally located so everyone knows where they are!
