A Little Bragging

Today I hit a milestone. I did a front squat with 120lbs! It's hard but it feels so good. I was very happy because I couldn't do the first one, took a break and then I nailed it! I really enjoy working out with weights, we ladies need to be stronger the older we get! Don't be afraid of weight lifting.

Now for a change of direction......this weekend I had some quilters over to work on baking some cookies for our quilt show this spring. It was a practice session.

Leslie was in charge. She has all the supplies and the know how to make beautiful cookies using fondant. This is the first year we will be doing our own food and one of the things we will be  making are sewing themed cookies to sell.

So we did some experimenting and nailed down which ones we are going to make. Has anyone else made these or something like it for a quilt show? Any comments or suggestions? I would love to hear them!

Kelly

  8. Those cookies look like works of art. Food permits, allergy warnings, individually wrapped all of which comes to mind. I knew a friend who ran a gift/consignment store was selling bags of spices and was not allow to carry them in the store.
    Congratulation on hitting that goal!

  13. I am barely able to do a squat, no weights. Physical Therapy for my ankle is way harder than I though it would be.
    Those cookies look amazing.

  14. Those cookies are wonderful! I've never been to a quilt show that had anything that neat. And you have members who are willing to learn. Sounds like a great quilt group.
