Sew Steady

Have you tried Massdrop? I have bought a couple of things and so far am very happy. No shipping charges on anything!
When the Sew Steady Sewing table came up I hesitated but eventually went in on it.

The table is much bigger than I thought it would be. It's 22 1/2" x 25 1/2"  a perfect size for workshops and getaways.

This is a nice feature I have not seen before, a sliding drawer for pins and other small notions. If you look to the right, I dropped it when I opened it and broke the edge )-:

It also comes with this nice padded carrying case and a place to put the legs. I am a satisfied customer. If it comes up again I would recommend it. They will ask you the make and model of your sewing machine to get the insert cut out perfectly. There is a grid that goes on the top. I know I will mess that up so I will let my husband do that for me.

How cute is this fabric? I just had to have some and will be sharing.

This is our book club pick for next month. I love this book and am so happy to be reading it again. Have you read it? Did you like it? It will be a good discussion book too. Is there anything better than anticipating a good book? Well maybe anticipating a day of sewing.......

  1. What is Massdrop? I've never heard of it.

  2. That bee fabric is so fun, I love the colours!!! I've wanted to read that book after LeeAnn Nifty recommended it to me ages ago, now you've mentioned it too so I really need to read it. It's sounds as though it it a nicer read than your last book.

  3. I loved The Good Earth too. I didn't read it until after I had teenagers, and I remember thinking that the father in the book had the same types of problems with his kids that I did.

  4. It's one of my favorite books.
It has a lot to say.

  5. I have heard good things about Massdrop. I have voted for things but have not purchased anything yet. I just missed a Liberty bundle that looked wonderful. Enjoy your book and have fun sewing!

  6. haven't read that book in ages, will have to get it from the library.
no never tried mass drop never even looked at it on line so not really sure what it is! I have had that table for my older machine its very useful, didn't have a drawer and a carrying case that is great. love that bee fabric!!!!!

  7. I have done Mass Drop 2 times and both times it was great. Love that table especially the slide drawer underneath, that will come in handy! And what fun butterfly fabric.

  8. I haven't tried Massdrop, but I did buy on elf those extension tables - and that has made all the difference. Thanks for the Pearl S. Buck reminder too!

  9. I loved that book. I need to find a book group.

  10. How neat that you now have such a nice sewing table. It looks great! I've place my first orderfrom MassDrop, but Quilter's Dream wool batting isn't being shipped until October 30. Did you see that MassDrop is looking to hire a quilting buyer? How great a job would that be?! Moving to San Francisco isn't in my life plan though. :-)

  11. Oh, I forgot about this book. i will definitely have to read again. Enjoy your sew steady.

  12. I"ve never heard of Massdrop, but am going to check it out now. This is a very nice table top and love the little drawer. How handy!

  13. never heard of mass drop - will check it out. We are lucky living in the country where we are not likely to get ripped off at our door step.
Your table and carrying case are fantastic!
I love The Good Earth. great read. "Sons" is another great book by her.
Sure makes you grateful for the ease of our lives.

  14. I know this is an older post so you might not see this, but it made me so happy to see Pearl S Buck's Good Earth being read. My Aunt recommended it to me years ago and I didn't think people read Buck's books anymore. I remember reading several. Her knowledge of China and ability to portray it to us is amazing. It truly makes me so happy to see that she is still being read. It's also good to hear that you endorse Massdrop. I have only been getting their emails for a short time. Thanks!
