KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE MY BLOW DRYER RUN!

Friday Sewing

I decided to work on some of my Moda Modern Building Blocks today. It is very gloomy here and  the picture colors are off.

I had a stack of fabric sitting out for something else and found these fabrics stacked on top of each other. I decided I liked them together very much.

This is one of my all time favorite fabrics, I would buy a bolt of it if I could find it. Notice how in this picture the lines are blue(the true color) and in the above picture they look pink.....

I started in on some of the 6" blocks, they remind me of the Farmer's Wife..... that I need to get back to...

I love pink and gray together.

I veered off from the color palette on the pattern with this one. While I do like yellow and gray together, it didn't work in this quilt. So I went ahead and changed it.

Once again the color is very bad, between the gloominess and the flash. In real life they look pretty good together. I am not sure about all the pink on the right. I will wait to see how it looks with the other blocks that go on top of it.
Thank you for all the get well wishes. I am better today but still feeling tired and grumpy!

  1. I just love your blocks!! I think I always say this but you really have a knack for putting together really wonderful fabric combinations. Do you know the name of that pretty fabric? I can't imagine you being grumpy, :)

  2. This project looks so fun! Great color combos despite the gloomy day. I really love the pink fabric with the dotted leaves, the tomato red with the small flowers and the mustard yellow with the wavy dots.

  5. The colours look fabulous to me; very cheery on a gloomy day! I agree with Audrey- being grumpy after being sick is totally understandable! I hope these blocks make you less grumpy! ;-))

  10. Are you a member of The Modern Quilt Guild? If so, you can access the Webinar by Vanessa Christenson where she shared all about taking photos for blogging or Instagram. She recommends you never use a flash, but rather use your camera program's editing software to lighten the photographs. Maybe that will help you. It's good to see you sewing on the machine again. You must be feeling better.

  11. fun block production even if it was a gloomy day. We got that weather yesterday - rainy!! been hand quilting, but not much in the sewing room. I've never seen that fabric, but it sure is a "pinkadot" fabric!
