KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE MY BLOW DRYER RUN!

Miscellaneous Wednesday

I am having a hard time getting back to blogging. I thought the break would make me more inspired but in reality it has not worked.
I bought this Orla Kiely phone case at Target a while back and love the design. Everywhere you look there are quilt inspired things.

Today, after this post I am going to clean my sewing room so I can actually sew.

It is pretty bad. We needed to use one of my tables for one of the many parties over the past 2 weeks. I just threw everything where ever I could to get the table out.

I want to get back to working on this blue quilt.......

and this one.......

and this one......the last 2 just need a border and some quilting and they will be done!

But temptation is always around the corner. There are some simple yet fun quilts in this book and I love the colors of her fabrics.

and there is that selvage quilt I have been wanting to do.....too many choices, too many good patterns and great fabrics.
What are you working on today?

Kelly

  1. Sometimes you just don't feel like sewing - or blogging - and that's ok. Things ebb and flow. Sometimes starting a new project will somehow reinvigorate you to dig back into an old one too. Always love seeing your quilts - especially like the dresden.

  2. I just can't wait to see those quilts finished!! Especially that last one!
And give yourself a break, it's summer after all and you've been crazy busy!

  4. You've a bunch of lovely projects to choose from! I am loving that red and white quilt with the tree--really striking! (and your sewing room looks clean compared to mine!)

  5. WOW. I would love to play in your fabrics on the table. They look sooo good. I have been doing very little since moving earlier this year. Right now I am working on BOMs and two baby quilts that are way overdue.

  11. Such a fun phone cover and I love all of your fabulous projects. It's funny when you have a break from blogging , you think you'll be invigorated but in fact I think it's harder to get back into it sometimes. Also you've just had a very busy time and you're probably still a bit exhausted. Put on some music and enjoy tidying your sewing room.

  12. Kelly, you have some fun, fun quilts going there. I expecially love that dresden plate and the red/white star. You have had a busy summer, girl!

  14. How fun to see the reality of your sewing room - the physical untidiness, and the close-to-being-done projects. Yes, that's the real thing! Love your blue scrap quilt, and the Dresden Plate. You certainly have fun things to work on. As for selvages... really? Is that all you have?! Surely there are more hidden off-camera. I have two big garbage bags full! Plenty for a quilt... and other quilts taking priority. I think none of us quilters will ever be caught up. (How's that for me being heartening?! Ha!)

  15. Kelly!
So much inspiration here! I think it's true, it is so hard to get back to blogging after a break. You have been so busy this summer. Love every unfinished project here in waiting. Looking forward to seeing more bright and happy quilts from your corner.

  16. Sometimes it is so hard to get back to work. I've just gone through a stressful time. Last night I made a block. I feel like I can move forward. Love your projects.

  17. I feel your pain. Oh that self inflicted pain of piles of glorious fabrics scattered all over the workplace. So now that you have it all cleaned up and put away, I challenge you to grab a project and go for it. You are the CAN DO gal.

  18. Love your WIPs. I'm just back from Assateague Island but can't really work on anything yet. We're taking DD back to school on Monday. After Labor Day I can get back to my WIPs.

  20. Cleaning up my sewing room -- there seems to be a trend going on in the blogging world; or perhaps it's just a case of I'm doing it so I notice everyone else who is too!
