Fons and Porter Online Class Give Away!

Recently I was contacted by Fons and Porter to do a review on any class that they offer. I picked a paper pieced pattern called, Times Square. I thought the video was well done and the instructions were very clear. It was a good way to see how paper piecing works if you have never tried it. There were also some good tips that will help you be successful in a short amount of time. The curved piecing was interesting to watch as well, I am always looking to improve my curves! Included in this class were fabric requirements and patterns to print out.

I feel that a lot of quilters love the idea of an online class as they can access them on their own time table and watch them over and over again.

The good news is they have asked me to do a give away to one of my readers! Go to Daily Craft TV
look over the classes they offer. Leave me a comment about why you like to take classes, which one you would pick and why. I will pick a name on Tuesday, September 3 to celebrate my 3rd blogging anniversary.

Other than allowing me to access a class for free, I have no affiliation and was not compensated from Fons and Porter. I do like their magazines though, especially Quilty which is a little more on the contemporary side. Check it out the next time you are at the store.

  5. I think I would take a class on resizing quilt blocks. I have wanted to learn the correct way to do this for a long time.

  6. I would pick "How to make an appliqué from a portrait of your pet". We adopted an 8 month old puppy last month and it would be so lovely to make his portrait in fabric! This would be a great way to learn some new techniques too.

I enjoy taking online classes because I can learn at my own pace and at my own convenience and they are more affordable than in-person classes.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. I would love to take "How To Make a Quick Wedge Quilt" from the Fons & Porter Staff. I have 19 grandchildren, one great grandson and a great granddaughter on the way. With this size family I am always thinking quick quilts :) It would also serve for more charity quilts with my guild and church.

    Thanks for this great opportunity.

  8. I like taking classes because there is always something to learn. Even a tip or trick to help with quilting is worth it. I like the on line classes because I can get distracted, and wander back later. I don't miss anything. I would like 3 Ways to make Flying geese with Liz Porter. I know at least three ways to make geese, but mine often come out headless. LOL Maybe Liz can set me straight.

  9. how fun! I'd pick curved piecing because I haven' t really done any. I tried on the apple core then gave up and hand pieced.
