Diary Block Tuesday

This is the last block in my Diary Quilt. You can tell this project needs to be over because I almost forgot to post it today.
In some of the comments it was suggested I do a self protrait.....way too hard and not a lot of patience for that in a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 block. I decided to keep with the sewing theme and give a nod to a quote seen in some antique quilts. I have also seen "when this you see remember me". The word remember would be squished in there and not look too good.

The thread is not tacked down and I kind of like it that way. It is fused under the hand and then stitched over to keep it from coming out.

On the back of each block I wrote the date and also what the block was all about.....Cait's wedding dress, birds in my birdbath etc.,,,,,

This weekend I plan on finishing the ending block which will have I think, my initials and date on it or maybe my name. I hope to have it bound and ready for pictures next week.

If you want to read my criteria for this challenge,  you can check out the orignial post HERE. Let's see how closely I kept to my plan!

  9. I've been behind on my blog reading since Thanksgiving, so enjoyed catching up with you this morning, Kelly. Your Diary block is so pretty...I'm going to miss seeing one every week, but sure understand a need to "finish"! I love your antique finds especially...the pin cushions are so sweet. Yesterday, I ran across a circular Christmas tablecloth at the Antique shop up the road from me...your idea is such a good one...I might have to steal it!
