I Am A Baby Boomer

This quilt is called Yellow Bird In A Blender, named by my husband. I have a hard time coming up with names for my quilts. So I sometimes ask him if he has any ideas, and this is what he came up with! Hey I asked....he said that is what he saw when he looked at the quilt. It is a Karen Stone pattern and I made this
in 2002. It is paper pieced and was not an easy pattern to do. It took a couple years to complete.

I am a Baby Boomer but......I am participating in the  Gen X Quilters Summer Fair Quilt Show.
Gen X Quilters Summer Fair
What a cool idea on a hot summer day to look at some beautiful quilts. Go over a take a look.

Here is a close up. As you can see every inch of it is paper pieced. My friend Terry did this in reds and blacks. Another friend Cynthia did it in reds and blues. They both were amazing. If I can get some pictures of them I will post them.
I am busy machine quilting my Almost Red and White quilt. Hopefully it will be done today, it is taking forever!

Thanks for saying you're a Baby Boomer and still entering the "Quilt and Recipe Fair" at Gen X - I was wondering if they'd let this BB in, and now I know!

  7. It's gorgeous! Did it take a couple of years because you just weren't into it? I've definitely had a lot of UFOs like that, and paper piecing can get kind of boring & tedious.
